United Nations (UN) under Secretary General Erik Solheim visited Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT University on Friday.
Erik along with a high level delegation visited various campuses of KIIT and the various departments of KISS. On this occasion addressing 25,000 students of KISS. Erik said, the campuses of these two great institutions are fantastic. KISS is the only institution in world where 25.000 students are living in one campus. Dr. Achyuta Samanta who made these two great institutions is hero for us. He also said the world is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. He had four dreams. He dreamed for poverty free world.
We need to fight for poverty free world by 2030. Mahatma Gandhi believed in nature. We have to protect our nature.
He always said cleanliness is godliness. We should keep our India Clean. We should keep his dreams alive, Erik advised the students. You are the future of the world. You can make great your parents, family, society, country and the world. Among others Satya S. Tripathy, Senior Advisor on UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Juris Dierckx, CEO, BNP Paribas India, Ratna Dharashree, CEO, Micro Finance Institutions Network of India were also present. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KISS and KIIT gave welcome address while R. N. Dash, Secretary, KISS and KIIT proposed vote of thanks.
