The School of Comparative Indic Studies and Tribal Science and Centre for Indigenous Science and Technology, KISS-DU successfully organized an insightful ‘Waste to Wealth‘ workshop on April 13, 2025, hosted within Campus-3 of KISS-DU.
This initiative served as a crucial platform for promoting the principles of the circular economy and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among students. The workshop moved beyond theoretical discussion to emphasize the practical transformation of discarded materials into objects of value.
The core activity involved students skillfully demonstrating how common refuse—including paper, cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, plastic spoons, straw, sacks etc. could be creatively repurposed. Their creations, which ranged from functional household items and decorative art to innovative educational tools, powerfully illustrated that waste is simply a resource out of place. This hands-on engagement allowed participants to directly experience the significant potential of upcycling in reducing landfill burden and conserving natural resources.
The ‘Waste to Wealth’ event was not merely a crafting session but a powerful pedagogical tool, successfully embedding the vital message of environmental stewardship and sustainable innovation within the campus community.
