The Save Water Day was celebrated on 22nd March 2025 within the Campus-3 of KISS-DU, organized jointly by the School of Comparative Indic Studies and Tribal Science and the Centre for Indigenous Science and Technology. The event aimed to create awareness about the importance of water conservation and sustainable management of this vital natural resource. Students from various disciplines including Environmental Science, Food Science, Botany, Zoology, and several other branches, along with faculty members, actively participated in the program. The celebration featured a series of engaging activities such as poster presentations and debate competitions, where students expressed their ideas and innovative approaches towards water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and the judicious use of available water resources. The Dean and faculty members addressed the gathering, emphasizing the urgent need for rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and the adoption of eco-friendly daily practices to minimize water wastage. They also highlighted how traditional knowledge and indigenous methods can contribute effectively to modern water management systems. The event concluded with an advisory note to students, urging them to treat water as a precious gift of nature and to take individual responsibility in conserving it for future generations. The celebration not only raised environmental consciousness among the students but also reinforced the university’s commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible living practices.Students were advised not to waste this precious gift of the nature.
