KISS Deemed to be University is a world-class campus devoted to excellence not only in teaching-learning but also in extension activities for empowering youth to become leaders and global change makers.

The NSS Bureau of KISS-DU organized an awareness program in Bhalunka village (adopted village), ‘A Tribute to the Feathered Friends’ on 31st May 2022. Now-a-days the summers are becoming harsher and unbearably hot with the mercury soaring 40 degrees across cities. This rise in mercury in the recent years has hit the neighborhood birds, stray dogs, cattle, cats and squirrels etc. We are well aware of the mayhem created by the pandemic. The innocent animals had to face the consequences of the lockdown, wherein they failed to get food for themselves. KIIT and KISS has been meeting its social responsibilities since its inception and steeped up during the pandemic in distributing food and water to animals. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Founder KIIT and KISS had initiated this noble act and the NSS Wing of KISS-DU walked on the footprints of Hon’ble Founder by paying tribute to our Feathered Friends.

The NSS bureau has decided to organize phase-wise programs to help and serve these animals in need. The bureau took its first initiative towards thisand organized a program in Bhalunka village. In this, the volunteers placed bird baths and drinking water pots for birds on the trees and on the ground, as per the requirements of the area with an aim to help the feathered friends during these days. The volunteers and the program officers distributed drinking water pots and created awareness among the local people about the importance of such steps which we need to take during these tough times.
