The School of Tribal Legal Studies and Tribal Rights, KISS-DU organized a lecture on ‘Sociology and its Theories’ on 9th November 2022. Dr. Rabindra Kumar Mohanty, Head, Department of Sociology, Central University of Mizoram was invited as the speaker.
Dr. Pragyan Mohanty, Dean, the School of Tribal Legal Studies and Tribal Rights delivered the Welcome Address and introduced the distinguished speaker. Dr. Krupasindhu Nayak, Ambedkar Chair also spoke on the major milestones achieved by the revered speaker.
Professor Mohanty spoke extensively on the subject of Sociology. He highlighted the great theories from Sociologists like August Compete and explained the relationship between Sociology and other disciplines such as Social Work and Anthropology. This interactive lecture was attended by students, research scholars and faculty members.
