FORTY International sports persons from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences(KISS) met Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi. The delegation included four girl students of KISS and KIIT Deemed to be University. Purnima Hembram, Jauna Murmu (both from KISS) Dutee Chand and Rutuparna Panda (both from KIIT)- who have been selected to participate in the Asian Games ,2018.
The students got a chance to take their breakfast with the Vice President at his residence. Naidu congratulated the students on their selection and hoped that they would come out with flying colours in the Asian games and bring laurels to the country.
In his message on the occasion, the Vice-President of India highlighted the importance of sports in national Development. Sports, he said, helps us to be physically fit, enhances our personality, equanimity as well as fosters friendship and social Cohesion.
KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta and senior officials where present on the occasion. Expressing his gratitude to the Vice President for his immense love and affection towards students of KISS, Samanta said the breakfast will be etched in memories of KISS forever. The students also visited the badminton court in the Vice President's residence and congratulated Naidu on his completing one year in the office.
The players, who are on a four day Delhi visit from 4th to 7th August, also visited parliament house and the Museum inside the Parliament Complex and witnessed the proceedings of parliament session from visitors gallery. They visited various monumental sites in and around the national capital including India Gate as well as KISS. Delhi situated in Najafgarh and interacted with students there.
