National Innovation Foundation, (NIF) Department of Science & Technology, Govt of India and KISS & KISS-DU (Vocational wing) jointly organized a workshop on Eco-friendly products on 31st May 2022 at KISS campus-3. NIF scouts, supports and spawns’ grassroots innovations developed by individual and local communities in any technological field, helping in human survival without any help from the formal sector and promoting eco-friendly and sustainable innovations. The workshop provided an opportunity to the students to learn about the use of bio materials in making different products.
The workshop was attended by representatives from NIF: Mr. Vivek Kumar, Scientist-E, Coordinator Eastern region, and Mr. Rahul Prakash, Research Associate. They educated the students about eco-friendly products and its utilities.Mr. Subrat Kumar Barik, NIF imparted hands-on training and demonstrated making of idol using biodegradable cow dung powder.
Earlier, in his address, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor KISS-DU motivated students to undertake different vocations. Dr.Prashanta Kumar Routray, CEO, KISS and Registrar, KISS-DU encouraged students relating to new innovative product making. Professor Jugal Kishore Mishra, Director IQAC and Dr. Tripura Mishra, Vice Principal, KISS also inspired students in their speeches.
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Soumendra Choudhury, Director-Skill Education, KISS who touched upon the opportunities to learn the new innovations. The workshop witnessed around 100 students and trainers from the vocational wing, who participated and learnt new skills. Mrs. Mamata Sishu Goswami, Asst Director-Handicraft proposed the vote of thanks.
