The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures (SCTLL), KISS-DU in collaboration with Viswamukti Foundation Publication, Patia organized a Book Releasing Ceremony on 6th April 2024. The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the Holy Lamp, signifying the auspicious beginning of the ceremony. This was followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Professor Sasanka Chudamani, Editor of Viswamukti, who warmly welcomed all the attendees and highlighted the goal and purpose of the event.

The esteemed distinguished guests were then felicitated, acknowledging their valuable presence and contributions to the literary and academic spheres. Following this, the much-anticipated Unveiling Ceremony of the book titled “Rajni ka Sangeet aur Anya Kavitayeen” in Hindi took place, translated by Dr. Ajit Prasad Mohapatra which was originally written by Shri Bishnupada Sethi, marking a significant milestone in the realm of literature.

Dr. Ajit Prasad Mohapatra, Retired Professor and Translator, graced the event with his insightful Address, sharing his expertise and thoughts on the subject matter. He recited a few poems from the book which gave meaningful insights to the book. This was followed by addresses from distinguished personalities including Professor Chakradhar Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Central University of Odisha, Koraput; Professor (Dr.) Sachchidananda Shukla, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur; and Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar. In his address, Professor Chakradhar Tripathi emphasized the pivotal role of literature in preserving cultural identity and fostering societal cohesion through linguistic diversity. Professor Sachchidananda Shukla underscored the profound impact of literature in shaping cultural heritage and fostering intellectual dialogue, highlighting the importance of preserving literary diversity for societal enrichment and global understanding. Professor Deepak Kumar Behera reaffirmed the significance of academic collaborations in advancing knowledge and understanding within the realm of literature and language, stressing the importance of nurturing interdisciplinary approaches for societal development and cultural enrichment. He also highlighted and encouraged others to translate such writings into tribal languages. Shri Bishnupada Sethi, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Odisha, also addressed the gathering, shedding light on the importance of literary translations and his perceptions of it. He also said that he wrote poems only to recover himself, when he felt any stress or when he found his mind disturbed which gave great insights and inspiration to others.

Finally, the event concluded with a heartfelt Word of Thanks delivered by Dr. Rasmita Tripathy, Associate Professor and Dean, SCTLL, KISS-DU, expressing gratitude to all the participants, organizers, and attendees for their valuable contributions and active participation.

The Registrar, Director General, Professor Emeriti, Research Chair Professors, IQAC Director and Deans of various Schools, Faculty Members and Research Scholars of KISS-DU were also present among others.

The Book Releasing Ceremony served as a platform for intellectual exchange, literary enrichment, and academic engagement, fostering a spirit of collaboration and dialogue among scholars, researchers, and literary enthusiasts. Overall, the event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all those who were fortunate to be a part of it.
