The School of Indigenous Knowledge, Science and Technology (IKST), KISS-DU organized an invited talk on ‘Chemistry for a Sustainable World’ on 3rd December, 2023. The distinguished invited speakers were Professor Debendra Kumar Mohapatra, Chief Scientist, CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, Professor Santosh J. Gharpure, Department of Chemistry, IIT Bombay. Dr. Sabita Patel, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, NIT Rourkela and Dr. Sivakumar Vaidyanathan, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, IIT Hyderabad. The event was graced by senior functionaries of KISS-DU, over 100 Post Graduate students, research scholars, faculty members and staff.

The first session, conducted by Professor Debendra Kumar Mohapatra, Chief Scientist, CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, Dr. Sabita Patel, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, NIT Rourkela, and Dr. Sivakumar Vaidyanathan, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, IIT Hyderabad. The thrust area of the first session was on how to be a good researcher, various research techniques, digital information, and data analysis. The second session, which was conducted by Professor Santosh J. Gharpure, Department of Chemistry, IIT Bombay, dealt with conformational and configurational analysis.

Dr. Bikram Keshari Das, Programme Head, Chemistry Programme, School of IKST, KISS-DU, highlighted the key points which were discussed during the interactive sessions and proposed a word of thanks to the guests and participants, highlighting the key points discussed during the interactive sessions.
