The Sanskrit Programme, School of Comparative Tribal Languages and Literatures, KISS-DU observed World Sanskrit Day on 2nd September 2024. Professor Prafulla Kumar Mishra, Chancellor, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Bihar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU delivered the Welcome Address. In his deliberation he highlighted the importance of learning Sanskrit. He spoke at length how events like this contribute to preserving and promoting Sanskrit language. While delivering the Keynote Address Professor Mishra highlighted the golden period of ancient India through Sanskrit education. He opined that Sanskrit is not a dead language, rather it is the language of the future. Professor Mishra concluded by proposing certain ways and strategies for the protection and promotion of Sanskrit language.

Professor Raghunath Panda, Professor Emeritus, also talked about the importance of Sanskrit. Dr. Trupti Mishra introduced the guest and was hosted by Dr. Biraj Krushna Mishra. Dr. Sukanti Behera proposed Vote of Thanks for the first session and the second session was a cultural programme by the students of Sanskrit Programme.

Among others, the programme was attended by the Deans, Directors, Chair Professors, Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students.
