Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Deemed to be University observed ‘Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta’ campaign under Swachhata Hi Seva on 1st October, 2023 between 10.00 am and 11.00 am (Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta) on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. In this regard a cleanliness campaign was jointly organized by NSS Bureau, YRC Unit and Rovers & Rangers Unit of KISS-DU at ‘Bhalunka’ (the adopted village by NSS Bureau KISS-DU). 100 volunteers from NSS Bureau, YRC Unit and Rovers & Rangers Unit of KISS DU had participated in the campaign.
Volunteers of KISS DU cleaned the School area and road sides of the adopted village with support and participation of local people. The event was graced by senior functionaries of KISS-DU Professor Deepak Kumar Behera and Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar of the university.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Manoranjan Mohapatra, Coordinating Programme Officer, NSS with the support of Mrs. Manasi Chandra Nayak, Ranger Leader of Rovers &
Rangers and Mrs. Bedamati Pattanaik, Counsellor of YRC Unit. All the Programme Officers of NSS and officials of KISS-DU had also participated in the said Event. YRC Counsellor, Rovers & Rangers Leader and NSS Programme Officers mobilized the student volunteers to be a part of Clean India Campaign in line with the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. Further, the volunteers of KISS-DU also sensitized and created awareness among the people of the adopted village. The programme was concluded with a word of thanks by the Coordinator of the Campaign.
