Fit India Campaign is a nation-wide campaign to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by doing physical activities and sports in their daily lives. This campaign was launched on National Sports Day, 29th August 2019, by Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi at Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi.Fit India Mission encourages people to become part of Fit India Movement by inculcating at least 30-60 minutes of physical activities in their day to day lives. The mission of the Movement is to bring about behavioral changes and move towards a more physically active lifestyle.

 

As a part of Fit India Campaign, the NSS Bureau, KISS-DU on 24th April, 2022 organized the Run for Fit programme for 2 km Run forstudent volunteers of NSS Bureau. NSS ProgrammeOfficers, Faculties and Staff members of KISS-DU also participated in the programme to encourage the volunteers to stay healthy and fit.The event was organized on …from6.00am and 7.30 am at the Archery Stadium, KISS-DU. There were 487 registrations from the student volunteers both boys and girls. Student Volunteers, NSS Programme Officers, Faculties and Staff members were actively involved in the 2 Km Run programme.

The programme was held under the direction of Dr. Amulyaratna Nanda, ProgrammeCoordinator, NSS Bureau, KISS-DU and 10 NSS programmmeOfficers extended their support to make the event successful.The Run for fit campaign began at 6.15 am, inaugurated by Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU and Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU. The senior officials, faculty members were also present in the inauguration.

 

The campaign started with the “Fitness Pledge” that reads, I promise to myself that I will devote time for physical activity and sports every day and I will encourage my family members and neighbours to be physically fit and make India a fit nation.Dr. Amulyaratna Nanda, NSS Programme Coordinator, proposed Vote of Thanks.
