The Prime minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment (Poshan Abhiyan) or the National Nutrition Mission was lunched by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 8th March 2018 with an aim to lay emphasis on nutritional status of adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers and children from 0-6 years age.
The NSS Bureau of KISS-DU joined this national mission by organizing an Awareness Programme on 29th May 2022 in Bhalunka of Daruthenga Grama Panchayat. Professor Deepak kumar Behera , Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, KISS-DU delivered the Inaugural Speech , Dr. Iswar Chandra Naik the Chairman Council of Deans, KISS DU, Dr. Kanhu Charan Mahali, Director General, KISS DU, spoke about the importance of eating nutrious food . Later a health camp was organized by Dr. Nirmal Mahakud and Dr. Meera Pattnaik. They counselled the villagers regarding the importance of healthy eating and its benefits.Food and Medicines were distributed among the sick people free of cost. All the NSS Program Officers and NSS Volunteers actively participated in this noble drive. The Vice-Chancellor and other senior functionaries lauded the efforts of the volunteers and motivated them to carry forward such activities in the future.
