Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University (School of Tribal Resource Management) , Bhubaneswar signed MoU with Kalahandi University, Bhawanipatna on 2nd December 2022. The key areas of collaboration were joint research and publication; faculty and students exchange programmes; joint seminars and webinars; internships and projects and faculty development programmes. The MoU Signing Ceremony was attended by senior functionaries, faculty members, research scholars and students of KISS-DU.

Delivering the Welcome Address, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, KISS-DU spoke about some of the major milestones achieved by Kalahandi University and in the context of KISS-DU, he said that the University has adopted innovative practices like Professor Emeritus and Professor of Practice. He also shared about the satellite centre of KISS in Kalahandi. Professor Behera brought to light some of the possible areas of collaboration between both the Universities.

Professor Sanjay Kumar Satapathy, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Kalahandi University who also addressed at the Signing Ceremony delivered a talk on ‘Time to Shine’. This talk was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, KISS-DU as a part of the MoU signed between both the Universities. He inspired and motivated the students by infusing new energy in them. He drew reference from sports and gave examples of P.T. Usha, Dutee Chand and Sarbani Nanda and urged the students to take inspiration from their lives. He explained the difference between a task being Urgent and Important and how one should act accordingly during the decision-making process. Professor Satapathy highlighted the importance of values, morals and character building by citing examples from mythology.
