The School of Tribal Resource Management (TRM) organized a Field Trip for PG students of Geography Programme KISS Deemed to be University visit India Meteorology Department (IMD), 10th August 2022. The purpose of this visit was to gain insights into practical knowledge on weather and climate. Dr A. Rehman, Sr. Meteorologist, Shri L.K. Giri, Sr. Meteorologist explained how the 16 parameters from weather elements are obtained to observe weather conditions within every 10 minutes for which weather instruments like rain gauge, wind vane, anemometer, GPS with balloon, Remote Sensing, sensor, receiver is indispensable. Dr Uma Shankar Dash, Scientist analysed every day’s weather condition in brief. H.R. Biswas, Regional Head of IMD Centre, Bhubaneswar addressed the students on meteorology – a multidisciplinary science. Ms. Saurava Goswamy, Faculty in Geography and Dr. Arpana Oram, Associate Professor, KISS-DU accompanied the students.
