The AURORA Club of KISS-DU observed International Day of Education and National Girl Child Day on 24th January 2024. In a combinely organized event, the students of the university shared their opinions, knowledge and thoughts on these two important observation days. They echoed UNSECO’s vision of dedicating this year to the cruicial role both education and teachers play in coutering hate speech. In their deliberation, the students added that the impact of violence which has increased in the recent past, they stressed has transcened boundaries based on geography, race, religion, and politics. The central theme was education for peace, human rights and sustainable development.

In a parallel activity, National Girl ChildDay was observed on the same day wherein the students of the AURORA Club visited various classrooms in order to spread awareness on the inequities faced by girl child. They briefed the classes on the rights of girls, importance of their education, health,nutrition and digital literacy.

The Project Manager Dr. Snigdharani Panda and the AURORA Club Faculty Cordinator, Ms. Saswati Jena spoke about the modules developed under the AURORA Courses which are in sync with these two important observation days and highlighted the relevance of the same in real life context.
