Dr. Anindita Nayak, Assistant Professor, Department of Anthropology KISS-DU attended a One-Week UGC MMTTC Capacity Building Programme on the “Ethnic Conflict, Land, Resources and Development in North East India” organized by UGC MMTTC Manipur University, Imphal from 24th-29th August 2026 at Manipur University. Dr. Anindita was the only one candidate who has been selected from outside North-east India. She has worked among the Khasi Indigenous community of Meghalaya, North-east India in a very related topic of research for the Degree of her Ph.D. in Anthropology.

The primary objective of her for attending the programme was to explore the profound wisdom of Cultural Heritage of the Ethnic Communities of Manipur, their knowledge system to land resource management and the conflict and development issues related to land resources within the State and the recent issues of borderland security in Manipur and also the cross-boundary issues especially on North-east India.

Dr. Nayak represented KISS-DU as a participant and received appreciation for her outstanding performance from the organizers during the course. Dr. Nayak desires to translates her experiences and learnings from this Capacity Building Programme at KISS-DU.
