The School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology (STHTI), National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, KISS Deemed to be University observed the International Day of Happiness on 20th March 2026 on the theme “Healthy Mind, Happy Life.” The programme aimed to promote the values and activities of NSS while highlighting the importance of happiness through selfless service.
The event commenced with a welcome address by the NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Hisi Soren, who emphasized the significance of happiness and its close connection with service to society. The motto of NSS, “Not Me, But You,” and its core objectives were explained, highlighting the role of youth in nation-building.
Ms. Diptishree Dash, the invited Chief Speaker, delivered an insightful session encouraging volunteers to actively engage in NSS activities. Awareness talks, interactive discussions, and motivational sessions were conducted, where volunteers also shared their experiences, inspiring others to contribute meaningfully to society.
The programme was graced by the Dean of STHTI, Dr. Sujata Acharya who delivered a thoughtful address on leading a happy and balanced life.
The programme concluded with the NSS clap, with enthusiastic participation from a large number of volunteers, making the event meaningful and successful.
