As a part of the collaboration between KISS-DU and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI), an exposure visit to SCSTRTI, Bhubaneswar was organized for the students of KISS-DU on 25th July 2022. This visit will be conducted for the students of KISS-DU from time to time. The purpose of this visit was to give insights into the various artefacts, their documentation and display. Professor A. B. Ota, Director-cum-Special Secretary, SCSTRTI, Bhubaneswar played a seminal role in facilitating the visit.

KISS-DU has introduced a new innovative course under ‘Learning through Academic Excursion’ for the Post Graduate students of School of Tribal Resource Management. Professor Ota interacted with the students, provided in-depth knowledge, and explored possibilities in the areas of livelihood enhancement, concept of Intellectual Property Rights and Patent on both tangible and intangible knowledge possessed by tribal communities. The faculty members of the School of Tribal Resource Management, students and research scholars were part of this one-day visit. KISS-DU plans to establish a mini tribal museum in its campus.
