The Energy Conservation Day was celebrated on 13th October 2025 at the KISS-DU campus, with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and staff under the School of Comparative Indic Studies and Tribal Science (SCIST), Centre for Indigenous Science and Technology, KISS-DU and Institutions’ Innovation Council (IIC), KISS-DU. The event aimed to raise awareness about the responsible use of energy resources and to promote sustainable practices in daily life. The program began with a pledge by students to conserve energy and use it wisely in all possible ways.
A debate competition was organized for undergraduate and postgraduate students, focusing on the theme of “Energy Conservation and Its Future Necessities,” where participants expressed their views on the importance of adopting renewable energy sources and reducing dependence on non-renewable resources. Faculty members and staff also joined in taking a collective pledge to avoid unnecessary consumption of electricity and to promote the use of solar energy and other clean alternatives. Several faculty members delivered insightful talks highlighting the significance of energy efficiency, the role of technology in minimizing energy waste, and the global need to transition towards sustainable energy systems. The celebration successfully instilled a sense of responsibility among students and staff, reinforcing the message that small actions towards energy conservation can lead to a major positive impact on the environment and society at large.
