An awareness talk on “#Breaking the Cycle ” was jointly organized by Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar and Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster Foundation (BCKIS) Scientists and Co. and Maa on 8th April, 2023 to educate the girl students on women’s health. The event was graced with the presence of the invited guest speaker Dr. Sweta Raghavan, Founder of Scientists & Co and among others, Dr.Snigdharani Panda, Dean, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU.

At the outset, the guest speaker highlighted the inequal treatment and challenges faced by women in multiple spheres of life and discussed about the importance of womens’ health in today’s fast paced lifestyle. Dr. Raghavan gave insights regarding the menstrual cycle of women and related health issues. There was a detailed discussion on the food habits of women and ways to manage their physical and mental health. Special focus was given on personal health and hygiene and remedial measures to be taken to handle vitamin deficiency resulting in various health problems.

It was an interactive talk followed by question and answer session by the students. The session cleared many myths about women health and enlightened all participants about overall well-being.
