The KISS Wellness Centre and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), KISS-DU, jointly organized a distinguished invited talk on “The Art of Wellness in Ayurveda” on 3rd November 2025. Professor Gopal Chandra Nanda, Chairman, AYUSH Committee, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha, and Founder of the DNA Art of Wellbeing organisation dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and research in Ayurveda, Bhubaneswar, graced the occasion as the esteemed resource person. The event aimed to create awareness among students and faculty members about the importance of Ayurveda and tribal medicine in daily life.
Delivering the Welcome Address, Professor Namita Mohanty, Professor Emerita, KISS-DU, introduced Professor Nanda. In his deliberation, Professor Nanda highlighted the relevance of Ayurveda in everyday living. Drawing references from the Bhagavad Gita, he emphasized the significance of the Indian Knowledge System. The session concluded with remarks by Dr. Snigdharani Panda, who shed light on several initiatives undertaken recently by the KISS Wellness Centre. Notably, she mentioned sensitisation and awareness programmes on the theme of suicide prevention and one-to-one counselling sessions for university students.
Dr. Maitree Padhi, a member of the KISS Wellness Centre, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished speaker, faculty members, and students for making the session a success. The session was moderated by Dr. Sujata Acharya, Dean, School of Tribal Heritage and Tribal Indology, and a member of the KISS Wellness Centre. The programme was conceived and coordinated by Ms. Debahuti Pattanaik, Senior Lecturer and Convener of the KISS Wellness Centre.
