The Chemistry Programme, School of Indigenous Knowledge, Science and Technology (IKST), KISS-DU, organized a Distinguished Invited Lecture on ‘National Education Policy 2020:Higher Education Component and G20 Presidency’ on 28th March 2022.

The distinguished invited speaker Dr. Ram Naresh Mahaling, Associate Professor, School of Chemistry, Sambalpur University was invited as the resource person for the lecture. Dr. Bikram Keshari Das, the Convener of the Invited Lecture and the Head of the Chemistry Programme, School of IKST, KISS Deemed to University, introduced the guest. Dr. Mahaling delivered a presentation on National Education Policy 2020: Higher Education Component and G20 Presidency. He described how NEP-2020 will be helpful in all stages of teaching learning process. He focused on the curricular and pedagogical structure (5+3+3+4). He also touched upon the role of NEP in producing skilled students for the next generation and how students will be self-employed. Dr. Mahaling also emphasized on the introduction of 4 years integrated B. Ed course in the curriculum and the importance of research activity in higher education system. He concluded by highlighting how NEP emphasizes on setting up of multidisciplinary education and research Universities.

The session concluded with an active round of discussion and a formal vote of thanks offered by the organizer Dr. Tanushree Das, Asst. Professor, Chemistry Programme, School of IKST.
