The Geography Programme, School of Tribal Resource Management, KISS-DU organized an interaction session on 7th October 2024 wherein the students performed Dhemsa and Santhal dance to showcase rich indigenous culture. The Santhal is a Scheduled Tribe and their dance and culture reflects the colours of rural Odisha and adds beauty to the folk culture of the state, the Dhemsa dance is a typical tribal dance which originated in Koraput district in Odisha and is considered a customary dance during the Dusshera, in addition to ceremonial events including marriages.
